Arena of Valor is a hit new MOBA game. It features five on five multiplayer along with three vs three and one vs one options. The game also features over 40 heroes, ten minute matches, a different kind of mode called Hook Wars, and more. The game was intensely popular in its limited release. We think it's going to be one of the more popular MOBAs right up there with Vainglory and others. It's free with in-app purchases. However, it's not a classic freemium game and that's a good thing.

Dragon Lapis is a new RPG from Kemco, a big hitter in the mobile RPG space. This one features retro graphics, jRPG style mechanics, and a full story line to complete. The game has two versions. The free version is just the base game while the paid version has a few in-game bonuses to start with. Both versions have in-app purchases and that's not great. The game can be completed without in-app purchases. It just takes a while.

NBA 2K18

Price: Free with in-app purchases
DOWNLOAD ON GOOGLE PLAY
NBA 2K18 is this year's official NBA game release. It features basically the same stuff as last year's game. This one has updated rosters, tweaked controls and mechanics, and an expanded MyCAREER mode. It looks good and it plays fine. The freemium strategy is a little worse than we'd like. That's the kind of thing you expect out of EA, though. Otherwise, it's not a bad mobile game for basketball fans. It should remain entertaining until the freemium stuff catches up to you.

Neverending Nightmare is a new psychological thriller game. It follows the story of Thomas. He keeps waking up from nightmares but doesn't actually wake up. He spends the game running from his inner demons. The game uses simple graphics as well as simple mechanics. It's fairly gory. We wouldn't recommend this one for kids. Otherwise, it's a decent overall mobile experience. The game goes for $3.99 with no in-app purchases.

The game features simple, but fun mechanics, decent graphics, and tons of the franchise's typical quirky humor. It's a tad more expensive than most Oddworld games on mobile. The game has some glitches and bugs. We may recommend you wait an update or two for them to fix it up. Otherwise, it's fun!

Sonic Runners Adventure

Sonic Runners Adventure is a bit of a weird release. It's one of the few Sonic games not by SEGA. Gameloft does this one. It plays like a Sonic game. There are obstacles, levels, coins, bad guys, and all the usual platforming. It even has a story line. The game goes for $2.99 with no in-app purchases. That's the first time in a while that Gameloft launched a game without in-app purchases. It's a good game, too.
